Los Angeles County is the latest area to enforce extreme COVID-19 restrictions ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. On Sunday evening, California public health officials announced a countywide suspension to indoor and outdoor dining. They cited an increase in coronavirus cases in the state for the reason.
Dining at restaurants, bars, wineries and breweries will be restricted effective on Wednesday, November 25. However, it may not stop there. Health officials warned if numbers worsen, additional orders will be enforced.
Restaurant owners have said this decision will ultimately do more harm than good for businesses overall.
As new COVID-19 cases remain at alarming levels and the number of people hospitalized continue to increase, the LA County Health Officer Order will be modified to restrict dining at restaurants, breweries, wineries and bars, effective Wednesday, November 25 at 10:00 p.m. pic.twitter.com/SQo08dF63A

This is the latest move by California officials after Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) implemented a statewide curfew, shutting down non-essential gatherings and activities until late December.
Due to the rise in #COVID19 cases, CA is issuing a limited Stay at Home Order.
Non-essential work and gatherings must stop from 10pm-5am in counties in the purple tier.
This will take effect at 10pm on Saturday and remain for 1 month.
Together–we can flatten the curve again.

Meanwhile, local authorities have clarified the move appears to be symbolic as many law enforcement agencies are refusing to comply with the enforcement.
“Our goal is to not arrest folks, our goal is not to use criminal law to enforce these things” BUMP WITH “In term of enforcement I can tell you that Sheriff deputies are not going to be out on foot or they are not going be out in their vehicles looking for people”.
Until further notice, businesses will only be permitted to provide take-out, drive-thru and delivery services.
